In this tour, the walk difficulty level is easy/medium! You`ll walk only 5km and downstream!
Short description: You`ll go across one of the longest suspension bridges of the world and walk one of the most beautiful trails: The Paiva Walkways! Visit one of the highlights of Portugal: Costa Nova, and Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice!
We leave from Porto towards Arouca town where we will stop shortly for bathrooms and coffee.
After a short drive, we`ll arrive at the Walkways and go across the Suspension Bridge! It spans 516 meters-long across the valley and hangs 175m above the Paiva river!
Notice: crossing the bridge is not mandatory. You have the option to skip it.
Then, you`ll walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 5km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the left bank of the river. Trail Areinho-Vau.
The walk will be followed by another highlight of our day: lunch! (fish and vegetarian options also available)
After a power nap in the van, we`ll arrive to Costa Nova! Costa Nova is one of the highlights of Portugal – a beautiful fishing village known for its striped colorful houses!
Time to enjoy Aveiro, also known as the “Portuguese Venice”! Discover the city center on a short walk, enjoy some free time and relax on a boat trip to see the charming city through the canals!
Finish the day back in Porto.

Great experience and fun for all the family. I highly recommend it.
Be prepared for a full day experience. We started the tour with a walk over the suspension bridge. Even though we are afraid of heights, we made it across. Then a 7k hike which was mainly downhill but it still required good shoes. After the hike we ate at a local restaurant and then continued our tour to a local town where we went on a water excursion. Then wrapped up the day at an old fishing village. The day was memorable and we made friends. Wholeheartedly recommend this trip. You wont be disappointed.

The suspension bridge and Paiva walkways are an unique experience, highlighting the beautiful Portuguese countryside . The walk was about 8 kms long following the Paiva River , which was beautiful even on a rainy day .
Our guide Ricardo was friendly and attentive… helping in any way he could to make it a wonderful day . We enjoyed a delicious traditional lunch served family style
The tour ended with a boat ride in Aveiro and a quick stop at the pretty houses along the beach in Costa Nova

This is such a wonderful tour! It’s a full day seeing all kinds of highlights in the region with lots of time to rest in between as you’re driven from place to place. Ricardo was a fantastic guide who made sure everyone was well taken care of.
Journée très conviviale en petit groupe de 6 personnes avec un guide très agréable et très intéressant. Très belle randonnée de 9 km le long d’une rivière avec des rapides. Expérience culinaire appréciée à midi (plat du dimanche bien mijoté des grands – mères portugaises). Belle découverte d’Aveiro et agréable balade en bateau. Le petit arrêt à Costa Nova a été appréciable également.
