Cross one of the Longest Suspension Bridges of the World, walk the Paiva Walkways (downhill), visit Aveiro, the so called Venice of Portugal!
The Paiva Walkways is a stunning 7 km boardwalk zig-zagging downhill along the left bank of Paiva river at Arouca Geopark, a UNESCO Geological site.
Will you dare? Cross one of the Longest Suspension Footbridge in the World called Arouca 516! It spans 516m-long (1,692ft) across the valley and hangs 175m (576ft) above the Paiva River.
After the walk, another highlight of our day: a delicious meal at a typical restaurant! (meat, fish or vegetarian options available)
Time to enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the so called “Portuguese Venice” – the beautiful city of Aveiro!
We’ll explore the old quarter, wander through the main squares and see the fish market square.
Once in Aveiro, a boat trip over the canals is a must do! You`ll board on a “moliceiro” – the traditional river boats – and discover the charming city through the canals.

Tour Reviews
Wonderful walkways! A wonderful day out.
The suspension bridge is truly a great feat of engineering. Amazing views. Our guide kept us entertained between areas with a great knowledge of Portugal, it’s history, things to do & see etc. Generous lunch. Nice to see other areas not just Porto. Would highly recommend
Fantastic tour with amazing guide.
Great day and a tour worth doing. Paiva and Arouca were amazing, and Aveiro and Costa Nova were great and worth seeing. Joan was probably the best tour guide we ever had: knowledgeable, succinct, impactful in his messages and humble. If you love nature, want to see quaint places and explore places outside of Porto this is a great day out!
I absolutely loved it!
Louis notre guide était très agréable et nous a très bien expliqué la journée. Les lieux et le restaurant étaient vraiment a la hauteur. Je conseille vivement cette expérience
Wonderful day!! Our guide Luis was fantastic. We did so much during the day…the hanging bridges and walkways were beautiful and Aveiro is worth your time! This is a fantastic way to spend your day and a must if you are in Porto.
Well planned! We were taken care of from early morning until we were dropped off later that evening. The bridge and Paiva walkways were fun and the views were amazing!
Definitely worth the trip! You do more than is described in the description and the lunch they serve you is fabulous. We had a wonderful time.
The tour offered so much more than I had anticipated- the food was amazing, the walk was so scenic and not crowded at all. The tour guide was really knowledgeable on the region and Portuguese history and politics as well – so you get to learn a lot! It’s also well balanced in terms of having individual time to explore versus guided touring.
This was a lovely day trip to escape Porto and see some of the beautiful countryside that Portugal has to offer. The 516 bridge was impressive and so were the Paiva walkways! The lunch was excellent – we wish we could have eaten more but our stomachs were bursting – absolutely delicious 😋 It was nice to spend a little time in Aveiro too.
We had such an amazing day with Luis! He was so knowledgable and shared lots of history with our group. The bridge, walk, boat ride, and town visits were everything we wanted and more! A highlight waa definitely the local food for lunch! Definitely worth every penny!
We had a delightful day out with Joao. Our tour guide who drove us around all day was a joy to be around. I learned more about the history of Portugal and how the country came to be during our time in the van as we commuted from Porto to Arouca and the to Costa Nova (beautiful beach) and finally Aveiro. We met kind and friendly people with whom we travelled all day and exchanged stories. Our lunch was out of this world delicious and the perfect meal after the hike down from the Arouca 516 suspension bridge. All in all, just a great day and I’m so happy we did this. If you like being outdoors, you’ll love this.
