We start our tour in Guimarães by visiting the Castle, symbol of the cradle of the Portuguese nation, the Chapel of S. Miguel, where D. Afonso Henriques, the First King of Portugal was baptized and the Dukes of Bragança Palace.
A selfie next to the statue of D. Afonso Henriques will be followed by a walk through the oldest street in the city that leading to the Unesco medielval city center. Another landmark is the is mythical inscription on the wall saying “Here was born Portugal”.
After a traditional lunch, it is time to visit Braga. Braga is the capital of the Baroque style and the oldest city in the country with more than 2000 years.
We`ll wander around the city center to visit Roman ruins, the main squares, the gardens of Santa Bárbara, the Arco da Porta Nova, a landmark of Braga, and the Cathedral de Braga – the oldest in the country!
Finally, we`ll visit one of the most beautiful and imposing sanctuaries of the country: The Sanctuary of Bom Jesus de Braga, with an impressively beautiful stairway.
