Santiago is a place visited by thousands of pilgrims every year! Valença do Minho is a little border town inside of one of the most impressive military fortifications of Europe.

Santiago de Compostela is the final destination of the legendary medieval way of pilgrimage Camino de Santiago (Way of Saint James). It also stands after Rome and Jerusalem as the third destination of Christian pilgrimage in all the world.
Santiago is certainly one of Spain’s most monumental towns, with a particular architectural style all of its own. The old quarter and the medieval streets are fulfilled with youthful ambiance, visitors and pilgrims. It is a great experience to walk over the old town.

Valença is a walled town located on the left bank of Minho River, establishing the border with Spain. It is a historical military symbol of the independence of Portugal. The old town is located inside the impressive fortress from the 13th century, which is one of the main military fortifications of Europe, with about 5 km of walled perimeter, offering breathtaking views.
This former military bastion of defense is, today, a symbol of union between nations.
