Tour from Porto to Arouca for with a kick of adrenaline!
You’ll cross the WORLD’S LONGEST SUSPENSION FOOTBRIDGE, walk the Paiva Walkways trail, have beautiful lunch experience at a local restaurant and visit Arouca, a very Portuguese traditional little town.
The Paiva Walkways are one of the most beautiful walking trails in the world and a World Travel Awards winner. It is a 8km boardwalk zig-zagging down along the left bank of Paiva river at Arouca Unesco Geopark.
The Arouca 516 Footbridge spans 516m-long across the valley and hangs 175m above the Paiva river. The walking deck is made of a see-through open grid metal mesh! Will you dare?
Lunch will be in a typical Portuguese restaurant with panoramic views (meat, fish or vegetarian options available). Lunch will cost between 10€ and 15€ depending on your option.
Before heading back to Porto, we’ll visit Arouca for a glance about local culture and the Portuguese architecture styles.
NOTICE: crossing the bridge is optional. If you fear heights, you can just walk the normal trail and skip the bridge.
Know before you go: arriving at the Paiva Walkways, the road gets a bit winding. For those who have car motion sickness problems, we advise you to have a tablet or a pill to help with that issue.
