In this tour, the walk difficulty level is easy/medium! You`ll walk only 5km and downstream!
Short description: You`ll go across one of the longest suspension bridges of the world and walk one of the most beautiful trails: The Paiva Walkways! Visit one of the highlights of Portugal: Costa Nova, and Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice!
We leave from Porto towards Arouca town where we will stop shortly for bathrooms and coffee.
After a short drive, we`ll arrive at the Walkways and go across the Suspension Bridge! It spans 516 meters-long across the valley and hangs 175m above the Paiva river!
Notice: crossing the bridge is not mandatory. You have the option to skip it.
Then, you`ll walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 5km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the left bank of the river. Trail Areinho-Vau.
The walk will be followed by another highlight of our day: lunch! (fish and vegetarian options also available)
After a power nap in the van, we`ll arrive to Costa Nova! Costa Nova is one of the highlights of Portugal – a beautiful fishing village known for its striped colorful houses!
Time to enjoy Aveiro, also known as the “Portuguese Venice”! Discover the city center on a short walk, enjoy some free time and relax on a boat trip to see the charming city through the canals!
Finish the day back in Porto.

De trip was heel goed verzorgd. Onze tourgids Jão wist heel veel ook tijdens de autorit over de omgeving en de geschiedenis te vertellen, wat heel interessant was en echt toevoegde aan de hele dag. Zeker waar voor mijn geld gehad!
Great day with a very knowledgeable local guide. Great hike mostly downhill, and amazing lunch (with a good vegetarian alternative). Afternoon activities were also worthwhile and informative.

Parfait je recommande Rando au matin avec les passerelles et le pont suspendu , très bon restaurant pour le midi et visite de petites villes l’après midi avec une ballade en bateau Ricardo parle très bien français et anglais, parfait pour la compréhension et pour apprécier la visite à son maximum

Wspaniała wycieczka! Najpierw trochę emocji na moście , później trochę wysiłku podczas spaceru kładkami , przepyszny obiad i przejażdżka łodzią. Była okazja do podziwianiu natury i uroczych miasteczek. Gorąco polecam.

The whole tour was amazing! The best one according to my boys. Our tour guide Ricardo was also awesome. Wish I spoke with him first instead of Norberto. Was so disappointed with Norberto as he promised to put my family in one van which was 8 of us and the other 2 in another van. Was hoping my son and cousins would at least be together in the van.
Well organised day tour from Porto covering Arouca suspension bridge, Paiva walkways, local lunch, Aveiro and Costa Nova with Norberto. Norberto has fantastic English and an interesting background in history and international relations. He kept us thoroughly entertained all day. Would highly recommend any of his tours from Porto area. Comfortable van with air conditioning.
An excellent tour!
Joao is an excellent guide – personable, knowledgeable and informative. Both the suspension bridge and the walkway lived up to expectation. The lunch was good but a bit meagre with just one course. The canal boat trip was average. In general, timings were good.
We had a wonderful day. Food was great. Tour was amazing 10 out of 10.
