In this tour, the walk difficulty level is easy/medium! You`ll walk only 5km and downstream!

Short description: You`ll go across one of the longest suspension bridges of the world and walk one of the most beautiful trails: The Paiva Walkways! Visit one of the highlights of Portugal: Costa Nova, and Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice!

We leave from Porto towards Arouca town where we will stop shortly for bathrooms and coffee.

After a short drive, we`ll arrive at the Walkways and go across the Suspension Bridge! It spans 516 meters-long across the valley and hangs 175m above the Paiva river!

Notice: crossing the bridge is not mandatory. You have the option to skip it.

Then, you`ll walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 5km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the left bank of the river. Trail Areinho-Vau.

The walk will be followed by another highlight of our day: lunch! (fish and vegetarian options also available)

After a power nap in the van, we`ll arrive to Costa Nova! Costa Nova is one of the highlights of Portugal – a beautiful fishing village known for its striped colorful houses!

Time to enjoy Aveiro, also known as the “Portuguese Venice”! Discover the city center on a short walk, enjoy some free time and relax on a boat trip to see the charming city through the canals!

Finish the day back in Porto.

Die Brücke, der Weg! Hohe Kompetenz des Guide, auch der Guide auf der Brücke und in der Gondel hatte eine gut Art zu erklären ! Der Guide hat jeden seiner Gäste bei der Tour mit einbezogen

It was really a great experience. Especially, the first part of the day, with the bridge and the stairs through the forest and by the river. It is important to book a trip like this because the places you get to see are difficult to reach on your own, without a car. Luis was a great guide and driver, with a lot of interesting stories and very kind. We would have skip the boar ride in Aveiro for more free time around.

The tour was absolutely phenomenal. The bridge portion of the tour was amazing. I felt safe and the views are out of this world even coming from California where there’s great hiking everywhere. The Paiva walkways was beautiful and it’s great even for older people. The views again were fantastic. We stopped to eat at this amazing restaurant and there was plenty of food. We had both the veal and the fish and they are both fresh and tasted amazing. We stopped at 2 other little towns and that quaint. Our tour guide Joao was the best part. He was very informative and very friendly. I was surprised to hear he has a masters in Philosophy and working on another. He was very engaging and I can tell very smart! I definitely recommend this tour.

Adventure/Nature Walk/Beach/Boat—all in one day!
Carlos from Ennetours was an articulate and charming guide and host! He is well educated and encouraged all engagement/questions. There was an a diverse variation of terrain covered on this tour. The 516 Arouca Suspension Bridge won an award in 2021 for the Best Travel attraction in Europe. It will get very popular soon so best to go now. The Paiva Walkways was very scenic. The tour allowed ample time to enjoy and take many photos. Be sure to opt for the roasted veal lunch -excellent! Both Costa Nova and Aveiro are adorable stops. Good value for all these experiences all in one day. Recommend.

Hiking the Bridge and Waterfalls with the Best Lunch.
The views were amazing and we did take a lot of photos. Bridges ,waterfalls and nature all in a hike. It was great to get out of the city. Our guide I think his name is Louie was wonderful. He gave us history of Portugal and the country. He was very knowledgeable and personable too. Even though it rained us out of the boat ride we got to see a small town and a glimpse of the ocean.

The provided lunch was so good. We enjoyed it immensely. I had the Veal. The fish looked good too.
