In this tour, the walk difficulty level is easy/medium! You`ll walk only 5km and downstream!
Short description: You`ll go across one of the longest suspension bridges of the world and walk one of the most beautiful trails: The Paiva Walkways! Visit one of the highlights of Portugal: Costa Nova, and Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice!
We leave from Porto towards Arouca town where we will stop shortly for bathrooms and coffee.
After a short drive, we`ll arrive at the Walkways and go across the Suspension Bridge! It spans 516 meters-long across the valley and hangs 175m above the Paiva river!
Notice: crossing the bridge is not mandatory. You have the option to skip it.
Then, you`ll walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 5km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the left bank of the river. Trail Areinho-Vau.
The walk will be followed by another highlight of our day: lunch! (fish and vegetarian options also available)
After a power nap in the van, we`ll arrive to Costa Nova! Costa Nova is one of the highlights of Portugal – a beautiful fishing village known for its striped colorful houses!
Time to enjoy Aveiro, also known as the “Portuguese Venice”! Discover the city center on a short walk, enjoy some free time and relax on a boat trip to see the charming city through the canals!
Finish the day back in Porto.

- The Paiva Walkways;

- Traditional lunch at Arouca;
- Visit to cost Nova
- Drive to Aveiro;
- City center and fish market;
- Boat ride at the Aveiro canals.

We hebben een heerlijke dag gehad in Aveiro, bij de loopbruggen van Paiva en de hangbrug Arouca 516. Onze gids, Luis, heeft veel verteld over Portugal, de geschiedenis en de streek van Porto. We hadden een leuke groep en Luis had een groot aandeel in de gemoedelijke sfeer en gezelligheid. De lunch was uitgebreid en zeer goed verzorgd. We hebben genoten van al het moois. Luis stemt heel goed af op de wensen van de groep. Ik dacht mijn telefoon kwijt te zijn en Luis was ontzettend behulpzaam. Deze excursie is een echte aanrader!!!!
This is a full-day experience, and it’s amazing. The suspension bridge is thrilling and has amazing views. We also enjoyed Costa Nova and Aveiro. João, our guide, knows a lot about the history of Portugal, so you will get to know Portugal and the area better.

The best day ! Our guide Norbie was wonderful , so informative and fun . The day was perfect , vegetarian option for lunch was delicious and amazing scenery . I would recommend this tour , we saw so much in one day !

Alles war super, beste Ausflüg! In Arouca haben wir Mittagessen gehabt und habe ich eine frage, was war in Hauptgericht grüne Blätter, was war das? Das war Omas Küche, hat geschmeckt wie in 5 Sterne Restaurant. Bitte kann mir jemand sagen was war das?
Geweldige trip, alleen heel jammer dat we slecht weer hadden. Dat is prima opgelost door de gids met een alternatief om iets anders te bezichtigen. Alles ging in goed overleg met iedereen die mee was met het tripje.
