In this tour, the walk difficulty level is Medium/Difficult! You`ll walk 7km, but downstream!

We leave from Porto at 8AM towards Arouca town where we will stop shortly for bathrooms and for coffee.

Get ready for adventure! After a short drive, we will arrive at the Walkways and go across one of the Longest Suspension Bridges of the World – The 516 Arouca! It spans 516m-long (1,692ft) across the valley and hangs 175m (576ft) above the Paiva river!

NOTICE: crossing the bridge is NOT mandatory. You have the option to skip it.

Then, you will walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 7km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging downhill along the left bank of the river.

The walk will be followed by another highlight of our day: lunch! A delicious meal is deserved and it will take place at a beautiful typical restaurant! Meat, fish or vegetarian options available.

After lunch we’ll discover Arouca for a glance about local culture and history including convent sweets tasting related to Arouca Monastery.

Fabulous day!
Our tour guide Joao (Ennetours) was fantastic, very professional, explained everything really clearly, the whole day was well organised. Joao was so knowledgeable about the area and knew a great deal on Portuguese history, really enjoyed listening to it and learning bits I never knew! Crossing the suspension bridge was a fun experience, and the walkway had some incredible views of the river and gorge. Lunch in Arouca was delicious, good hearty meal with green wine! Followed by sweet treats and a coffee or beer! Definitely recommend it, fabulous day, thank you Joao

We had a great time on this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone! Lunch was amazing and so was dessert. Narberth was an amazing guide and full of knowledge.

Brilliant! Our guide was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He took time to explain the history and the present day life of Portugal. Great interaction. An unavoidable change to our itinerary was dealt with quickly and efficiently. We would highly recommend this tour.

Zeer mooie wandeling, lekkere lunch nadien, behulpzame gids

My favorite day in Portugal! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He brought us to a shortcut for the bridge that saved us a lot of time and hassle. We then went to the beautiful town by the sea. 12/10 recommend must do!!!

Wind, Rain, Adventure, Beauty!
First, let me say that our tour guide was excellent!! He provided us with interesting and meaningful commentary, but he also took very good care of us! The journey to the walkways was very scenic and enjoyable! It was a windy, rainy day…but that only added to the adventure! After the hike we visited a wonderful restaurant for lunch and wine, all included, and then visited a bake shop for treats and coffee. The monestary we visited was incredible. The hike was just challenging enough for this older woman. It was a wonderful way to see the beauty of Portugal away from the cities.

What a wonderful day!
The brigde and the nature is just stunning and we loved it so much.
We highly recommend this tour to everyone who loves to walk, be with nice people and have delicious food after.
Thanks again to our amazing guid!

Went to Arouca town and had a latte and pastry then up to large steel bridge! Walked 1 hour to smaller bridge where you could stop and travel with the guide or continue for another hour. Back into town for wonderful lunch and desserts at a special bakery!! Ricardo was incredible and caring and soooo nice. Highly recommend!
